I guess this is more of a Verizon question than a storm question, but I have yet to see 3G speed on my device. (always just 1XEV in the top corner) I know 3G isn't available everywhere, but I was in Nashville last week (where there is supposedly 3g available) and it still just said "1EXV". Why is this? Any help is appreciated! I just dont know much about all this stuff yet. My storm is my first blackberry, and i just got it a couple weeks ago. I love it!
I was playing with the Storm in the VZ store earlier today and it said "1XEV" too. I will have to side with Sith because I know for a fact I was in a 3g area.
Ok. Contradicting answers.....
Blacktooth: 1XEV isn't 3g...EVDO is? Am I understanding you correctly?
Thanks!
No. 1XEV is the Blackberry indicator for 1X(Voice) and EVDO (specifically Rev.A) for 3G Data. Most Verizon phones separate them, but Blackberries do not. If it says 1XEV on your Storm, in uppercase, you have full enhanced network and I think lower case is extended network, though that shouldn't make much of a difference.
