    AgTitan06,

What is the name and link to the other Business Card Reader (Beta) that you mentioned earlier can you post it here?

I have been looking for one and scanR just seems a little pricy for me.
It is called CardSnap by iApps

Very excited about this! I'm a small business owner and have to input receipt details every few days, so this will be very exciting if it works the way I hope!

Slightly random I know, but does anyone know the name of the application that turns a picture into a pdf? Sorry to dilute the thread slightly.....I did indeed try a search.

Sorry, I am not sure what application on the BlackBerry would be used to turn images in to pdf.

I apologize if this is not at all what you are looking for, but the Windows Mobile version of ProOnGo Expense exports to pdf...the pdf includes the receipt images, as well as the receipt details. Currently we don't export to pdf on BlackBerry, because there did not seem to be much interest. So, we currently only export to other formats (like Excel).

However, would you like to see the BlackBerry version of ProOnGo Expense export to pdf as well?

    Thanks,

This bug is fixed, unfortunately not in the beta build

E-mailing from the list (versus from the individual expense) should work. If you only want to e-mail one (versus several) expense, you can hide or filter expenses by tapping the menu button on the list and picking hide\filter, etc.

    Thanks for trying it out!

You will automatically get 30 credits for the Receipt Reader service each month. If you need more, for now just e-mail [email protected].

For those that don't know, a 'credit' allows you to submit the receipt picture to our server, then the Receipt Reader service helps you save on typing by automatically populating the merchant, date, and amount.

Haha, actually the HUGE Walmart receipts are one of our test receipts (along with 8.5 by 11 hotel bills). So, this should work (well, maybe not THREE FEET!). We suggest dividing the receipt it in half or even thirds, then take the picture as close as possible, but far enough away that the whole receipt fits in the pic.

Oh wow. This could be a very beneficial application for me. Is there going to be a one time cost for the application and service? Monthly?
I just got confirmation from product management that ProOnGo Expense will ALWAYS be FREE. This includes creating expenses, exporting to XML, Excel, etc, and more...(see www.ProOnGo.com)

The part we are charging for will be the Receipt Reader service (saves typing by automatically recognizing and filling in details from the receipt). It is free for now though while in beta so please give it a try.

Please let me know if there are questions, or e-mail [email protected].

    Thanks!

Does the program use a sophisticated OCR technology? The little bit of old school in me just has to make sure that the picture of the receipt isn't being viewed and details entered/uploaded by an employee. May be a silly question, you just never know these days.

Great point, the image editor allows you to scratch out any private details, although you'll find most receipts now cover the the credit card number with XXXXX. Or, if you still do not trust the ProOnGo server, you can always disable the Receipt Reader. You'll just have to type more, the receipts won't get backed up on the server, etc.

Than you for the quick reply, Dave. But does someone manually enter data from the receipt? The EULA seems to indicate that someone does enter it. I just want to make sure.

Accuracy is EXTREMELY important to us, so yes, at least for the beta there is a combination of technology and actual people.

My internet connection is working for everything else and I changed all permissions to allow.

    EDIT
