programs draining battery
- Ok so I got a storm 2 about a week ago, upgrade from my old storm 9530. Preinstalled I find an application called "cityID", shows u the location where a caller is calling from. also BBM is also installed. Now both of these applications are constantly running alongside the basic 4 (phone, messages, browser, and home screen) I charge my storm2 up one morning, next day evening its near drained. I am not a heavy user and text more often than rare calls. I can get rid of CityID but BBM I cannot remove! I don't even use it frankly, so how do I get rid of it and stop making it drain my battery?
Thanks!05-31-10 05:58 PMLike 0 - If you are getting nearly 2 days out of your device, your way ahead of many of us. That is good battery life for a smartphone, especially one with a large screen.
As for removing BBM, yes you can, but if it is not being used, it is not using any battery. It is one of the core applications that will always run, no biggy. But to remove it, go to your applications list, then select "core" at the top, and you should see BlackBerry Messenger in the list, and remove it from there.05-31-10 06:02 PMLike 0
