I'm guessing no one has any idea how much this thing is going to cost? I just got my storm 1 in march, i'm sure this will be out long before i'm eligible for upgrade. It would have to be $199 to compete with the rest of the smart phones... wonder what full retail will be.

can we speculate that it will be cheaper to manufacture sans clicky screen?

And when was the last time Apple dropped the price more than $50 when they made the next gen product cheaper. Apple maintains nearly 50% margin on ipods. My guess is $299 with a $100 MIR for new buyers and $249 with a $100 MIR for existing Storm owners who extend their contract.

That does sound like how they would/will set up the pricing.

If that is the case...I would really have to check out the Storm "2" (still calling it 2 with the quotes because I think its kind of a small revision) as well as the Tour.

    wishful thinking. VZW
will NOT offer Storm 1 owners a discounted price.

If they do that they may as well offer existing Curve and Pearl owners the same when the Tour is released.
No way no how will Verizon do that and why should they? Your not entitled to that.

I can see it now. Once existing Storm owners find out they won't be getting discounted upgrades the rioting will begin : )

Pure speculation...But probably a decent price considering how much bad PR the Storm has received...

We went through months of back and forth with the 95xx. I believe the price to be about the same as the storm was when it was new, and the storm 1 to come down in price upon release. As for NE2 customers.... I was at Verizon on the 21st of Nov. at 4 am waiting in the snow...no thats not right, oh yeah it was like 80 freaking degrees.... any ways, I think I walked out the door at 150.00... or so...

I will get the Storm 2 a few months after it comes out. There will be plenty available online due to bugs just like the Storm 1. Why get stuck with a contract, when 6 months after it is comes you will be able to find them online for the NE2 price without a contract.
