heres my problem: unlocked bb9530 on tmo. tried to update from 4.7 to 5.0.0.328 but cant get it to work. followed every step more than 4 times already but it wont work. i have experience with htc dash and g1 but this bb its kickin my a***** lol. any toughts people. thanks in advance

What have you tried thus far? How are you trying to load the OS and at what point is it not working? Are there any error messages you're getting?

i tried upgrading tru DM no luck- got to the screen where u see the 5.0 as preferred and the 4.7 as current the click next and it says that my BB as been updated but it only takes about ten seconds. and also tried with the apploader, deleted the vendor, searched for the hidden file as im on vista, and still no luck. tried both VZW and the Bell file with no luck. thanks in advance

thank you i might be new to this forum but its not my first time around. i did follow instructions as it said with no luck. i made sure i tried every one's method of upgrading. i even disconnected my wireless internet on my laptop before i opened the DM so it wouldnt have a chance of connecting with the server. ill try again this weekend. thanks for your help guys......

ok now i feel stupid. installed 5.0.0.328 & wasnt able to make or receive calls everything else works fine,web, text. tried to go with .591 hybrid by lyricidal. downloaded 419 and loaded the .591 onto the folder, got to shrink a os, but could never get bbsak to connect, shrink a os worked but launch loader didnt. trust me i have read a lot during this weekend probably more than i've read in my life lol. i would appreciate if someone could point me to what i should do. tried to be as specific as i could. sorry if its not enough.

You may have tried some of these, but here are some suggestions. They should make sense to you if you have done as much reading as you indicate:

1 Be sure to make a backup of your data and third party apps before beginning
2 Be sure to delete the Vendor file
3 Delete any other OS from your computer using Control Panel, then verify that only the 419 is on your computer by checking to see the folders here: Program Files/common Files/Research in Motion/ Shared/Loader Files.
4 If those things do not work, then make your backups, wipe the phone with BBSAK or JLCmder
5 Use apploader, not DM, to load the OS

I agree with above post - use the apploader, not DM. I have upgraded every OS and hybrid and am on Tmobile. I have never used DM. Apploader is far better IMHO.
