Ok...I know a PIN is a personal identifical number for your BB, but what's the difference between PINing somebody and SMSing somebody? I realize that you can only PIN another BB user, but what if you have unlimited texting...does it really matter what you use?

I'm guess what I'm asking is...lol...what, if any, is the real purpose of a PIN...beside identifing your BB?

    Thanks!

    PIN -

Blackberry to Blackberry only, whether PIN message or using Blackberry Messenger, uses RIM's servers, requires Blackberry Data Plan.

ah ha...ok. So, PINing is the same thing as SMSing, but it's only BB to BB...that's what I thought...just wanted to confirm.

    Thanks!

Well first off, it's an instant messenger. No lag like in SMS. It's just like using yahoo messenger or AIM but only for blackberries.
