Phone alerts to new SMS message, but it never displays

I am using the .85 os. It runs ok, has all the known quirks, but I have started to notice that my phone will alert me to a new SMS message, by chiming, and the LED flashes red, but no message comes in, and no indicator for a new message on my inbox or the message folder. People are asking me why I am not replying to their texts, the ones that I am not getting. Does anyone now what is causing this, it has happened about a dozen times in 2 days, and it is very annoying.

i know when that has happened to me it was weatherbug chiming to say it was updating...but if you really are missing messages from people that may be something else...
if you have wb installed, check it the next time it chimes with no message

That could be it, I will check. The people that are telling me i am missing messages have been having SMS issues also, and are on new phones, so they are a little unfamiliar. I will check it and reply, thanks!
