I have met 2 people in the past week who own storms, running .75 OS, and their units do not run EVEN CLOSE to as fast/smooth as mine. So I checked their memory, both user's application memory was around 9-11mb's.

I immediately told them to get rid of vznav, VVM, and other items they don't use, do a battery pull, and to close applications not in use.

The idea here though is that most people are seeing the storm out in public, and owners have them running 9mb free memory and the phone lags and can't even comprehend a simple click and it makes us look like we own shabby phones, when in fact the blackberry's specs are good!

I hope over time RIM really works out the small memory leak kinks and all the things that make this phone seem bad.

    p.s. I love my storm...

I love my storm and keep it nice and "clean". It usually operates with around 40-55mb of free memory.

    Woohoo!

With a little research and some common sense, this thing rocks!

    options>advance options>applications
BBkey the app and click "delete"
you'll probably have to do a reboot after each uninstall, but it's way worth it.

    I don't think I've ever seen mine over 40mb.

You should be able to reinstall them back from the Desktop Manager. I've removed VZNav and the foreign language characters pack on mine.
