I have downloaded the OS OTA and now I chose to "proceed w/ update" and it told me that it would take up to 2 hours to do so.

Now the screen has blacked out with no responsiveness but the LED is clinking red every now and then. Is this normal???????????????

Yes, let it sit and complete the process. If the download has already completed, then it should take about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour, but it could be longer.

Be sure your battery is ok, maybe plug in your phone if you have not already done so.

The "dark time" was ~30 min for me.
