at first after reading through the forums and trying to find all the information humanly possible to either deter me or convince me to upgrade, i had originally decided to stick with .75 until the official OS was released through VzW, but after yesterday i caved.

first off anyone hesitant about upgrading, the How to Upgrade Stickies leave no room for error, very well done and tell you precisely what needs to be done, it couldn't have been easier.

    lets get to it,

after going through the torment of watching my phone update it's OS the first thing i noticed was **** this thing is quick.

.109 has improved the storms transition from portrait to landscape, which was a huge issue for me the lag in the menus is almost completely fluid now, the over all feel of the interface was improved dramatically.

and yes the camera is a whole lot faster, but that never bothered me before.

the biggest leap in performance in my humble opinion is the typing in the browser, it's still a tad laggy, but it's miles ahead of where .75 is.

other features that are interesting at best, like qwerty in portrait, yeah it's cute, but my fingertips aren't 1/8" thick so doesn't change me too much. i've grown to love suretype too much, and with it's improved response, i'm starry eyed.

i didn't experience half the problems i've seen reported in the forums, i really think most of these issues of lost programs, icons, app centers, can be boiled down to a hitch in your install, just follow instructions and don't disconnect before it's done, and back up your info, and try not to flip your ****.

over all .109 is in no way a cure all, it's still very buggy, so don't upgrade thinking everything will be fixed, cause you will be dissapointed, but it's a step in the right direction, and i'm down for moving forward, i love .109 i'm getting the fluidity and functionality i know my storm is capable of.

    peace.

Excellent synopsis, and thanks for the info. Anything to help those still waiting to make the leap is appreciated. I've had similarly positive experiences. I've pushed every leak since the beginning, and haven't one ran into an issue with the upgrade process. Maybe it's luck, or just divine intervention.

it must be divine intervention, i never get lucky when i first try messing with my tech toys, i usually have to learn from my mistakes haha.

    thanks for the feedback.

All of the features that you mentioned were also available in 103, except for the camera.

I think battery life is improved, but that is just a guess. I have had my phone off the charger for over 40 hours with off and on use and it is still at 80%.

yeah i was too scared to do anything when .103 was out. i 've noticed my battery as well, i have theories as to why but i'm going to wait a couple days to really explore them.

I just upgraded from .75 to .109 I am amazed at the difference. I have not had one problem as of yet. (knocks on wood) The only thing that bothers me is I don't have my call log icon anymore. Come on over on the .109 side.

It is great that you are having a good experience. Ihave had similar for all but one of the 8 OS's I have installed.

I agree that following instructions and being patient appears to make a big difference.

Try this technique for portrait qwerty. Keep your thumb constantly touching the screen. You will always have a visual cue for which key is selected. It removes all guesswork from the small keyboard. The hassle of watching the glow is worth being free of the hassle of trying to type obscure words or names in suretype. That was a mystery to me.
