I currently am running the .109 edition on my blackberry storm, and see many people have gotten the .113/.114.

Is there an official release link (either from Verizon or Blackberry or whatnot)?

I'm scared to download an "unofficial" one for fear it may f up my phone.

Not sure what you're afraid of, as you are already running an unofficial OS. .75 is the current Official OS for the 9530 from Verizon.

If you are running .109, then you are already running an "unofficial" OS. .109 is not bad, I would stay with it if you aren't having any issues.

The only official for the 9530 is .75 at the moment.

Well, no I'm not having any issues whatsoever, however, I could have swore that I got the .109 from Verizon's webpage. I could be wrong, but I thought I did.

Yeah, I do have the 9530.

Do you guys update your software? Have you had any issues?

(I just don't want to have spent a bit of money to have it become a paper weight).

IMO and your mileage may vary, .113 is a moderate improvement in stability and speed over .109, nothing groundbreaking on my Storm.

The new copy/paste is the only thing that really made a difference to me although it doesn't work in the web browser which can get frustrating.

I would say go for .113. It's not bad. No GC that's for sure (IMHO), but better than .109 was for me (though .109 was good).

But as others poitned out, as far as being scared to load an unofficial .113, throw that thought out the window :-) Your .109 is unofficial... if you did somehow get it from VZWs website, it was a mistake on their part!
