::::OOAKDPC .758 for the 95X0 (.4xx Radio Version)::::

.4xx radio version - Should show .580 in Help-->About screen

Install the .4xx os of your choosing for your device, replace the files in the java folder with the hybrid files and install.

Before you can load up the os, you need to type a command into the BlackBerry.alx file so all the files will load properly.
I have premade the alx file, so all you need to do is download it and put it in the os folder with the rest of the alx files.

You may download the alx file here:

The problem is in the blackberry.alx file, its too old and does not tell DM to add this file into the install.

If you take the net_rim_bbapi_sharing.cod from the hybrid and load it on to your phone through bbsak it should be away.

You can also go into the blackberry.alx and add the file name in there and it will then install automatically.

Just drop it in the OS folder with the other alx files.

    Download it here:

It's the file for .6XX radio file that should be used together with the .591 base OS for the 9530 right?!?!

Yes if you are using the .591 leak, use the .6xx file download.

Very smooth Hybrid from the very start. I upgraded from 9530 - .748 Hybrids [by lyricidal]. I highly recommend this one---A+ grade. I have not observed any glitches of any kind. Good Job!

I haven't done a wipe in a while. Can you tell me what is recommended for a base OS?

I currently have a 732 hybrid on 591. I'm confused about what is acutally the current "base" and/or the best. Is it 328, 419 or 591?

    p.s. I'm on a 9530

    Thanks

One quick question. What is the difference between the shrunk and unshrunk versions?
    06-14-10 12:04 PM
  13. Krypto's Avatar
The unshrunk versions include the full Java folder while the shrunk versions have had a lot of the java files removed (including but not restricted to sample pictures and videos, setup wizard, and a bunch of other apps). I typically prefer to download the full (unshrunk) version and then shrink what I want out of it.

Love that you release these hybrids so quickly (and free) and I can't wait to try the .600+ radio because the one I'm using now is bad, however --

I can't seem to figure it out compared to the Lyricidal installations. I want to download unshrunk, dump it all in the Java folder, and then when I go to shrink in Shrink-a-OS it doesn't recognize? "117MB before, 117MB after" when clearly I picked the right folder...or did I? The one with all the .cods

Then all of this about the alx file, which I thought I got right, went to AppLoader and only a couple apps upgraded but not the OS...I usually know what I'm doing with all this semi-advanced stuff but it seems so complicated in comparison.

Hey jetman, just make sure you right click on Shrink-a-OS and select to run it as an administrator. That should take care of it for you (with Lyricidal's it does it automatically as a part of the program, but when you're using Shrink-a-OS on its own, you have to take that extra step.

    ok, can someone please clarify:

From what i see for 5.0.0.591 you should download the first option ".6xx radio version" (according to Tweak81)

Does this mean that for 5.0.0.484/419 that you must bring down "5xx radio version" or the ".4xx Radio Version"??

it appears that either the 5xx or 4xx version will then be obsolete??

    can someone please explain?

I went and wiped my phone, copied the 6xx java files in to my 591 folder and installed. Very happy. One thing I noticed for the first timne is that I'm not seeing any problems in SMS bubble mode. I don't see those black lines anymore.

That was a .419 issue. If you use .591 or higher it corrects that issue but brings others... BBM groups - keyboard does not function properly.

For the .4xx OSes, use the .4xx versions. The .5xx version is for the Storm2.

It had to do with the .419 OS only. That's why you likely never saw it.
