Install the OS Base/Radio for your device, and replace the java folder for that OS with the hybrid files.

    Wipe, install, enjoy

.4xx radio version - Should show .580 in Help-->About screen

Install the .4xx os of your choosing for your device, replace the files in the java folder with the hybrid files and install.

Before you can load up the os, you need to type a command into the BlackBerry.alx file so all the files will load properly.
I have premade the alx file, so all you need to do is download it and put it in the os folder with the rest of the alx files.

You may download the alx file here:

The problem is in the blackberry.alx file, its too old and does not tell DM to add this file into the install.

If you take the net_rim_bbapi_sharing.cod from the hybrid and load it on to your phone through bbsak it should be away.

You can also go into the blackberry.alx and add the file name in there and it will then install automatically.

Just drop it in the OS folder with the other alx files.

    Download it here:

If you are running the .591 radio, you should be able to use the first version (for the .6** radio files). The .5** radio file version is for the 9500 (e.g. for the 5.0.0.517 OS). If you want to run this hybrid on .419 on the Storm 9530, note, you will need to take the extra steps OOAKDPC outlined in the last section of the above post.

I may load this on tonight if I can find the time and if so, I will confirm that you can indeed use the first set of files on the 9530 running .591 as your radio file.

can you provide some findings please? I'd like to know how it works on 9530 over 591.
    Thanks in advance

working great for me right now. I dont remember what hybrid i was running before because it has been so long since ive updated and Im on a new computer. So i did a fresh install of the newest Desktop Manager, installed the leak, copied the java folder, connected the phone and started the loader. the loader restored all my data, apps and settings, which i dont remember it ever doing in the past. so far so good...

So far this is working well with the .591 radio (using the first set of installation files). I use the unshrunk version then manually shrink what I want out of it.

I haven't had some of the minor bugs that appeared in the straight OS and previous hybrids, but the standard .591 bugs are still there (like the non-updating clock on the homescreen).

Still too early to say what memory and battery life are going to be like, but it booted with similar memory levels to the .692 hybrid.

DJ, didn't I see .517 for the 9500 a while back? If not, sorry... I guess that's an alternate radio for the Storm 2. Its starting to get hard to keep them all straight... Too many updates on too many phones.

    Question?
When replacing the current Java files...Do I need to delete the current Java files prior to pasting the new Java files (.705) or is it okay to paste the files (.705) over the current Java files?

You can do either with this hybrid. Feel free to either paste directly over top of the java files, or feel free to delete the java files and then paste into the empty directory.

So far, a bit more than a day in, this is performing very nicely except for battery drain which is very fast (but no worse than .591 on its own or any of the other hybrids). Memory is nice and stable and the device is running beautifully.

Another great piece of work OOAKDPC!

This is an issue with the .591 radio and all hybrids based on .591 will experience this problem. A temporary work around until BBM is updated or until a new OS is leaked is to press the BB Menu button, select New Chat and then exit out. This will give you the keyboard at least temporarily.

Memory is actually holding up fairly well here as well just over a day in. Its a bit better than the .692 hybrid thus far.

As to battery life, it hasn't been too bad for me. I've been on the phone a decent amount today and it's about where I'd expect for .591 (maybe a hint better).

I don't know if I have an isolated case, but I recommend all 9530 users on the 5.0.0.591 radio install the hybrid files geared towards a .6xx radio (the first set of links). I just tried to install the .5xx version 3 times, and I got 523 app errors each time.

I just installed the .6xx version of the hybrid, and my device booted perfectly.

Yup, you want the .6xx version for the .591 radio (it's listed as the .6xx radio as that's for the 9550 with .607, which is for all intensive purposes similar to .591).

As a heads up, I've now been running the hybrid for a couple of days without a battery pull and memory is still holding up well. Seems to have settled down at around 27MB on my phone and if it drops, it usually comes back up no problem. So far, this is working pretty well (with most OSes/hybrids, I'd expect to be at 25MB or lower at this point in time). Battery life is also holding up pretty well today. It's been off the charger for 8 hours and I'm still at 87%. I haven't been on the phone much today, but I'd still expect to be down at 70% at this point based on my usage levels.

Overall, seems like the hybrid is settling in nicely after a couple of days.
