I recently resigned my contract...they tried to sell me three storms....IDK what the issue is.

Wow, you have an expectation that when you walk into a store and you have the money, you can buy whatever you want. I bought my Storm a month ago from a Verizon store in Cupertino. I wasn't up for the NE2, and I was about a year in on my contract. I had no problem at all. Tom got me totally dialed in, took the time to show me the Omnia, etc. When I selected the Storm, he whizzed through the menus and got my emails set up and everything. I couldn't have bee happier. He even BBm'ed me a couple days later to check up to see how I was doing. I had to paid around $275 for the phone after the rebate.

I had no problems upgrading to the Storm in January...If I had, I'd have been on the phone with Verizon Corporate handing over the names of every employee in the store in a heartbeat.
