Yesterday I was riding my dirtbike on some sand dunes in Central Oregon and had my phone in my chest pocket. Then I crashed.
I was going too fast over a rolling dune that ended at a 12' drop into sage where the trail continued. Going faster or slower would have been ok, but I wound up landing on my front tire only and smashed into the handlebars and then the ground. I was ok and picked up my bike and started waving my arms to keep my friend from landing on me (he didn't).
When I hit the bars with my chest, my phone was pushed into my front brake reservoir and actually tore my coat and jammed some fabric under the cap. This is a metal reservoir, not plastic.
Then after collecting myself from my very own yard sale I felt in my pocket for phone and it felt funny. Pics below were taken with the phone that this battery cover was attached to. The phone is fine, minus a ding in the battery itself and a small hole in the side near the USB port. No broken screen, nothing! I hammered the cover back into shape and it seems to work just fine. I'll have to keep an eye on the battery.
