Is it OK to sit on Storm in back pocket?
- To give a serious answer on this thread (for a change), I can see some significant damage being done to the SurePress button as a result of sitting on the phone. Specifically, the SurePress button may become worn or even non-functional if too much pressure is applied to it.
I've not personally heard of anyone's screen cracking from sitting on the phone, but I suppose it's possible with enough force.
I keep Storm in my back pocket a lot, but when I am sitting down, I make sure to put as little pressure on it as possible. I'd be much less cautious if it weren't for the SurePress button. That is why there needs to be some sort of SurePress lock for the phone locking the screen from being pressed-in.02-23-09 10:53 AMLike 0 -

Your storm will not like the feel of your rear while you are drinking beer. Your storm will not like being sat on in a box, it will not like feeling your a** when you are putting on your socks. So learn this lesson and learn it well, your storm will never like being squished by your big tail!

This is america, if the boy wants to sit on his phone, who the **** are you to interject common sense into the equation and deprive me of a good laugh.
God damn commies take all the fun out of life.02-23-09 11:20 AMLike 0 - hey Red, first of all this is a forum you can ask any question you want no matter how silly, and people can say whatever they want thats the beauty of forums so just remember, give it as good as you get it, second if my phone isnt in my hand its in my back pocket, ive pretty much have done this with most of my phone the front pocket IMO has gotten my phones in the past full of lint in a matter of minutes and its much harder to remove out the pocket But i use common sense i don't sit on hard surfaces with my phone in my pocket, i guess it helps i'm not very big either tippin 15002-23-09 11:35 AMLike 0

- Once in a while, I press on the screen around the corners and in the middle with my fingers just to, I guess, reseal the screen and get weird fluid like looking waves of colors on the screen. That is just from normal finger pressure, and you are talking what at least 100 pounds more??????????? Seriously, you are either anorexic, that you even think about this kind of question, or this is a total joke!!!
Wow, I am shocked at common sense people have nowdays!!!02-23-09 12:13 PMLike 0 - Hummm well lets figure out the pressure exerted per square inch, first by the finger tip.... humm a 3" by 2.5 ish screen is about 7.5 sq inches. and the finger tip, is approximately .25 sq inch applied with a force of 5 lbs make it a force of approximately 20 lbs per sq in, now the average **** on the average person .... hummm 180 lbs? divided by 2 cheeks = 90 lbs per cheek.... and the surface area per cheek is 36 sq in or 2.5 lb sq in over average.... seems likely there is less force applied by your ****, but that depends on the average density of you but what is the standard pressure and how hard the surface is you applying pressure on. Let’s not forget the density of your ****, are you a body builder with buns of steel? Or a couch potato with buns of jelly???? Of course your numbers may vary and I take no responsibility for the function of **** versus the storm screen
Now where is my Mechanical enginerring kid when i need him...Wow auto **** to replace suggestive words , and they didn't even start with an "a" eitherLast edited by Falling; 02-23-09 at 12:39 PM.

I don't think you'd want to sit on your phone for extended periods of time. I keep my Storm in my back pocket while standing up. Sometimes it's in there when I get in my car because I want to have my hands free for opening the door, using the key fob, holding my starbucks or whatever. In that case I'll sit on it for the few moments it takes me to get in my car and take it out. I also weigh 127lbs, so I don't think I could do too much damage to it. The main point here is no, don't sit on your Storm.02-23-09 12:46 PMLike 0 -
- If i put my old crappy enV or vx8300 in my pocket and sat i would probably crack the screen.... my storm doesnt even go in the front pocket... belt clip all the way.
And that commercial is so annoying, "My **** just hung up on you"... Ooo im cringing just thinking about it....02-23-09 01:16 PMLike 0 - It is ok to sit on you phone if you don't mind breaking a $500 phone. You may sit on it today and everything is fine, but what happens when you hear the screen cracking and then get glass splinters up your a**. My phone is always holstered on my belt, never in my pocket.02-23-09 01:21 PMLike 0
- I'm 6'3, 275lbs and mine is in my back pocket right now. I've got a nice Areon chair in my office but (or is it ****) it's been in my pocket on plenty of bar stools, late night diners and has even lived through a lap dance or twelve.
I guess I could GSL as I have the insurance.02-23-09 01:37 PMLike 0 - Okay...
Well My Guess Would Be-
When I apply any pressure that is Slightly More than what I Normally use for Typing, the screen goes all "wonky" and discolored-
Imagine when a 130+ lb Human Being sits on it...02-23-09 01:47 PMLike 0 - To give a serious answer on this thread (for a change).......I keep Storm in my back pocket a lot, but when I am sitting down, I make sure to put as little pressure on it as possible.
