I have no idea how long ago this came out, but I have been running this for a few days and it is pretty good. I know this came out for the 9500 when most people were already jumping on 5.0 and no one much cared (and I am sure 9530 users now will care even less), but I have not seen anywhere after several google and forum searches where anyone talks about it being available for the 9530....so I figured it should at least have it's own thread. At least there is a 4.7 build higher than .167 out and I am pretty sure this is the highest build that ever came out for the 9500 as well.
It seems to be the best 4.7 build if you don't run a custom theme. Handles memory as good or better than .151 did without having your streaming data crap out after an hour. Has the manage connections and clock hotspots and the transitions and is quick. The memory management though is what really stands out....it's amazing (much better than .167). I open all my apps and don't reboot for two days and the lowest I could force my memory was down to about 29 MB while usually it was between 31-33 MB. The 5.0 builds can't really touch that. Oh and it has the ability to type two characters with one screen click that was unfortunately dropped on 5.0.0.419 and above....
Speaking of the multicolored dot screen, is anyone getting black screen-freezes often with the recent 5.0 builds? Overnight, my storm just freezes itself... Oh well, no phone is perfect. I am pretty sure that the iPhone and Droid phones frequently freeze up without any user interference, since they are toys that are only good for browsing the internet and receiving email, without lag or having to constantly worry about memory leaks.
In the year 2010, who really needs a usable browser and decent hardware for a REAL smartphone? RIM is several hundred steps of their opponent, taking us back to the good times (1990s-early 2000s)
