Guys rumour sais that new official firmware 4.7.0.150 is on its way possibly Friday, can anybody confirm this?

This happens ALL the time. Someone starts a rumor and it doesn't come true. I was in the VZW store two days ago and they said Official release is coming in March. I don't even bother posting since I've seen tons of other users posting rumors. Although March does seem much more realistic then February!

I work for Verizon Some account manager from Verizon told me that it will be version and build .150 BUT a while back they told me that the next official release was going to be the version .102 so I'm not putting all my hopes in it until it's released.

Listen to Civic, it will be Release 150, which is version 4.7.0.106.

It seems pretty straightforward to me. I think Kevin remains pretty well informed of the latest Betas, and the latest version is 4.7.0.118. I can't see any situation where there is a 4.7.0.150 unless everyone is completely in the dark, which I really doubt considering the past and the informartion we get here.

You guys do realize that if Verizon pushes .150 out as well that means the leaked OSs we've been getting are way outdated, as in 6 or so weeks out. If versions come out about one every other day from development, the math just doesn't work out.

Because we have nothing better to do than torture ourselves every day with the possibility of a new and better OS. Although the 103/106 hybrid does have my Storm running pretty smooth.

My contact at verizon, who is a pretty high up data application supervisor told me it is still too soon to see an official Verizon OS tomorrow. Sorry guys... However, he could be wrong. But he hasnt been in the past.

No, Kevin does not work for RIM-he runs CB and is part of the Smartphone group (I think) and yes, those are the known latest releases. If you look at the edit note-the one's updating are the Mods. and yes, there are probably higher numbered OSs out there that are not known.

No one knows. These known OSs are usually what the mods get wind of or maybe have and are testing. The "official" beta users/testers should not be releasing them but occasionally a beta OS gets out (leaked), then we all go on a feeding frenzy over the leaked beta OS.

i don't know about other people...i've seen horror stories with upgrades..things missing.. memory leaks (i've been fine...i'll dip down to 22 megs every now and again during heavy use..but it doesn't run any slower).
i normally do a batter pull before i go to fully charge anyway....
but with every beta that's come out.... i've only seen improvement....i like doing the updates.... even if they're not officially supported.... as long as your bb's backed up, contacts, etc....what do you have to lose but reverting back to an older os

To add to this, I just pulled up the PDF of the old release from Verizon's site. Below is a what the description shows:

Download the Latest OS Enhancements for Your BlackBerry Storm 9530 Smartphone

Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce new software enhancements

4.7.0.75 release 107 update includes the latest feature improvements for

As you can see, they refer to it as "Release 107". So, if and when 150 comes out (if this rumor is true), it will be RELEASE 150, not app version 150. With all respect to whom came up with the wonderful idea of refering to releases by their APP version intead of the Release version (BBF peeps), I think it's fair to say that most of the VZW reps will probably refer to the releases by their Release version and not the app version. After all, if you look at the Help Me screen, you'll always see the release version in "()"... as in 4.7.0.106 (150).


BTW, if you want to have a good laugh, you guys should pull up this version PDF and read it. They have the "problems" listed and each sentance starts with "Intermitantly"... lol, as if to try and deter from the fact that IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. Prepare yourselves for a lot of "Intermitantly" listings in the new release's PDF.
