As far as upgrading i was very reluctant. Was still on .75, however I took the plunge and used App loader instead of DM and backed up all third party apps, and it went off without a hitch. Saw increadible amount of memory boost and alot snapier. Very glad I did!......and didnt lose a thing
i had the same problem and had to re-restore my data manually to get my calendar items back. now, my calendar won't show up in my today enabled themes.
Can't tell a huge difference between this and .132
I don't know if its just me but I hate the idea of unlocking with any button especially at work
Also my face buttons don't respond at times and I have to do a battery pull
Phone application ignores my "intial view" setting and always goes to the keypad and the guy who maintains the code for the screen locking application should be fired...how complicated could this code really be?!?!
My free memory seems to be jumping between 25-30mb w/ about 20 apps installed.
Phone runs beautifully, probably better than I have ever experienced...
If you dial a phone number and exit to the home screen (to look up an extension or passcode for a meeting), once you return to the dial pad you can not enter number extensions (to join a conference). It will dial the number and I hear the tone but the other end says no numbers acknowledged. If you dial the phone number and dont exit to the home screen and bring up the dialpad and enter numbers, they are accepted normally.
Overall, this appears to be a great build and I highly recommend it (so far)
alright straight up BBN00B here, so im gonna upgrade firmware, never attempted it, just need to know that I'm not gonna lose my applications if i follow through with the upgrade, i currently use garmin mobile as my GPS program and they are all about there "99.99" for lifetime of the handset thing so if it gets deleted chances are good i wont get a chance with garmin mobile again. That and maybe some of you even have a way of physically backing up the third party program so I never haveto worry about it, anyhow, let me know...cuz 4.0.75 is not cutting it for me.
Follow this tutorial....one of many good ones on the forum.....
There is a link in the tutorial about backing up 3rd Party apps....not hard if you follow the directions. Make sure before doing any OS upgrade you back up 3rd party apps and then do a backup thru Desktop Manager of your other data (messages, contacts, calendar, etc.). I have yet to lose any 3rd party apps on an upgrade, but I've got the backup just in case. Good luck!
ANYBODY else having problems with typing? i cant type some of the letters wont highlight. space bar wont work. i have to press them 10 times for it to highlight. or pressing a letter types another one. anything i should do to fix this? please help.
Installed it last night, replaced the .132 lock cod., did three battery pulls and it works amazingly.
It is faster than and better than .75 and .132. So far it seems that the "no sound" when receiving a text message issue has been resolved as well. To answer peoples questions....YES...update from .132 this build is great.
On a side note, does this thread really need to be 50 pages long? I read almost all of it and I encourage active posting but half the posts in here are off topic or are just plain uninformative in any sense.....Just a bit frustrated by that..sorry.
Went from .75 to .141 using the Apploader, with the lock file replaced beforehand, on two phones.
The automatic settings restore failed on both, but doing it manually with the DM afterwards worked fine.
Both running MUCH faster all around and no issues found yet - except the lower color depth (gradients) on the icons and such - which I understand the reasoning for.
yeah my automatic restore failed too. but to be honest i dont see much of a difference on .141 from .132. i get different phones act diff with different os's, but id say both os's are bout the same
Very difficult to read all 50 pages, but some things that I am encountering since upgrade.
faster browser, good memory recovery, battery life appears good.
signal seems to be jumpy. have tried the *228 but won't connect. hitting the call button twice does not bring up the last number called, so must go through the call log.
Personally fixed the locking issue with the .132 cod so I am not having that problem.
the more time passes the worse it gets. the phone starts to freeze. touching the key pay on the left lights up the keys on the right. whats is this all about
Seems as if Enterprise Activation is an issue with the recent build. I have tried two way to activate. Over the wire method and also via the manual method. Over the wire goes as far as initializing but never completes after being left for an hour. The manual method basically states "An error occured. Please contact your System Administrator." I think it is back to 131 or try the Hybrid, as Enterprise Activation is very necessary.
I have upgraded strating from .75 to .113, .122, .132 and now .141. I upgraded to .141 last night and had nothing but trouble. I had alot of problems now about 24 hours later I have got it all striaghten out. I did not have any problems with the other upgrades, but for some reason .141 was a whole lot more difficult to get working.
Screen seems to flicker/jump around while using calendar. (Also happens when launching Air Traffic Control.) While in month view...scrolling to next or previous month by flicking up or down...screen flashes/jumps. WTF?
I abandoned this wreck in under 24 hours. There's the obvious screen lock issue, and on top of that, the typing lag was the worst I've experienced on ANY Storm OS, and I've used basically every leaked 9530 OS since .75.
