I have been having some problems with the downloaded leaked operating systems. This has happened since a few days ago when I downloaded the 9500 .109 file to perform the .103/.109 hybrid OS. I download the file and it shows up under add/remove programs, but it does not show up in the shared loader files to modify of run it with apploader. I have removed the all the OSs and just kept the new one, removed and redownloaded the OS I wanted to install, restarted my computer and it still does not show up under loader files. Can anyone please help me as I have done this numerous times to try to get it to work, but no success. Please help me.

    Hey,

All you need to do bro is go to control panel and insure that everything related to BlackBerry is removed except for the BB Desktop Software.

    Download .109

    Disconnect yourself from the internet.

    Then install .109.

    Do not restart.

    Delete the vendor.xml

Then i like to empty the recycling bin lol..

Then launch up Desktop Manager and it should tell you that it found a new update.

    Good Luck!

Like the others said, the brand version will vary from device to device.
The branding version has to do with carrier ID and location of where the phone was flashed to become a specific model number. The branding version is composed of three parts. The first part of the branding version (1.0) is the version number. The next part (105) is the verizon carrier id. The last part (xxx) is the location where it was manufactured and flashed. Together they display as 1.0.105.xxx.
    Well put. nicely done.

sorry for the repeated post... but I jst saw that this is the "official" thread.

I just finished upgrading from .103 to .109, I have done a battery pull and afterward, the first three calls I made, I have been told that I could not be heard.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Any suggestions?

I was running .103, and the only thing I've noticed is more memory...

    .103 tops was 40
    .109 tops...so far...49 !!

If thats all I notice...cool. Just a little upgrade from .103

Now the upgrade from .77 to .103 was GRAND!!

    This is fun

    For those having battery issues....

The first time I installed .103 I had a hugh battery drain -> 22% after 4 1/2 hours with essentially no use. (I went back to .99) My suspicions were that it had something to do with the install.

I next jumped to both the .106 then .109 hybrids (still using the .103 CDMA files) with NO battery issues at all.

Now running .109 without any battery issues.

I hate to say this but you might try wiping and reinstalling the OS.... might fix your problems.

Hello everyone, anyone use their BBM often and has anyone noticed any freezing with BBM or Google chat? I use these a lot and with .103 it was a big problem. Any comments would be awesome, thanks.

I am also having problems. Have taken the following actions:

    1. Just got my Storm on Friday, no other software versions on PC (loaded with .75)
    2. Deleted all versions of curve and pearl software versions on PC
    3. Downloaded and installed .109
    4. Disconnected from internet
    5. Ran loader.exe, also tried DM first, neither discovers .109
    6. Apploader only sees apps on my 9530, does not detect .109.
    7. Have deleted everything and tried this multiple times

I have updated my curve and wife's pearl several times before, not a newbie to upgrades, to included leaks. Any help? Not going to die if I can't make this work, just confused why it doesn't work in the first place.

Try deleting the vendor.xml file from C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader/. Then use the loader.exe file within this folder to install the OS instead of using the DM.

Downloaded and installed with no issues. Not sure why so many people are having problems. I have downloaded and installed both .103, now .109 and it has been smooth as silk. Will update with observations tomorrow.....

I thought I didn't have to delete the vendor.xml file? Just asking. Thanks. I have also used the apploader to try several times already, no luck there either. I am currently trying to download from another mirror.

You usually don't have to delete the vendor.xml and I haven't had to delete it with any of the updates. But for some users, it was the only way that they were able to get the leaked betas to display.
