Going from .76 to .83 and just very impressed. SPEED...thank-you, thank-you, thank-you and my BT works even in speed-dialing without disconnecting. The brower is amazing ..you got to see AP now. Oh what a phone....finally.

For the first time since 21nov after getting our two BB Storms from .65 to .76 now to .83 plus getting one of them replaced this week, I have decided we are going to keep them past January 16th. I am happy with .83 ....great job you wonderful BB Storm development/test team. Have a wonderful Christmas and again thank-you.

PS: with .83 memory after a new bat.-pull got 40.9MB from same test with .76 = 29.3MB ...what an improvement.

One problem on boot up was a error message that reads: 'uncaught exception in java.lang. IllegalStateException' what do I need to do...any ideas?

does the video camera saving and playback of saved videos work better? if no one else knows i'll report back as soon as done updating...
Video camera is much improved. Haven't had it lock up yet, and it plays back no problem.

Has anyone tested with Garmin Mobile? Do I have to be the guinea pig on this one?
Garmin reinstalled and works just fine.

My big beef with the .65 and .75 OS's was the poor battery life and slow internet. How much of a difference has .83 made in these 2 areas?

Also, how many people are having trouble with BBM not showing up after the update? I use it a lot!

    Thanks

This leak is for the 9530. You're going to have to uninstall it from your computer and install a proper 9500 OS.

Everyone should keep in mind that this is a BETA release - it wasn't intended for "public consumption".

Of course there are bugs - these updates are coming fast and furious. And I'm sure it's not surprising, but 0.83 is already "old"

I'm going to have to agree with that power button thing. I can turn it off, but when I turn mine back on, it gets stuck at the Verizon spash screen.
    Not happening here.

NO. As the file says, it's for the 9530. There is a version for the 9500, but it's not this file.

My BBM and Maps and a bunch of other stuff did not show up after the update. HOWEVER, if you run the app loader you can check those apps and reinstall them, no sweat!

I did the update from the leaked .75. I've noticed a huge increase in speed with the internet browser. I use my phone to watch videos via Orb, and the picture quality has improved.

Battery life, you'll have to wait a few days for, but initial impressions seem good.

BBM showed up perfectly for me after the update. No problems there.

.83 seems pretty solid, and addresses a lot of the major concerns about the phone. And it was released (unofficially, mind you), less than a month after the US phone release. That should bode well for the future.

This .83 upgrade is a BIG improvement. For me, the difference from .75 to .83 is much greater than what it was for .65 to .75. Internet is much faster. Scrolling is very much improved. Everything is just much faster/snappier in general.
