I have AT&T and I currently have 3 bars on GSM mode. The phone will not let me make or receive calls. I have tried every combination of network settings

Yes, the data services is on. Is there a separate switch for voice. As soon as I dial the number and press send it says, "call failed!"

That is terrible. Have you called AT&T to see if they can provide technical support for this issue?

ive had the same problem along with many others.... just a fault on the phone... they are sending me a new one... hopefully that one will be better!!

Unfortunately, I don't think that replacement is going to be an option for him. He is using the device on a carrier that doesn't sell or support the use of the Storm. He will probably have to deal with BB directly to get another phone and that is "if" they will honor the warranty based on the reason he is asking it to be replaced.
