    I don't seem to get any alerts from messages received while my Storm is connected to my laptop. No vibrate, no tone, and no LED. Is there anything I can do about that? I do get my alerts when charging from the regular charger. Thanks.

    Check to see if you have mass storage enable.

    I definitely do, I use it to access the storage on the Storm & transfer files back and forth.

    That might be the reason you not getting the alerts. turn off mass storage and then call your cell and see.

    Ok, well maybe it is just SMS alerts I am not receiving because I DID receive my normal alert (vibrate, tone, & LED) when i received the email notification of the reply to this thread.... I just sent myself a text (from AIM) and no alert. My settings for email and text alerts are virtually identical.

    If you alerts are custom and they happen to be on the memory card I don't think you will get them if you have mass storage enabled and connected to a pc/mac.

    I am currently set on the "normal" sound profile. Not sure where that is stored, but I doubt the text alert is stored in one place and the email alert in another.
