Okay, Sorry about the ***READ***, but this one seemed worth it. THIS IS SO EFFIN' cool
I just finished some coorespondence with a guy at weather bug....
here ya go...
"...Hello, My name is Eddie Dingels. I am a developer at WeatherBug. Thanks for taking the time to report this problem.
We are currently in development of a new version of WeatherBug for the
BlackBerry Storm. It will encompass some of the same features as WeatherBug Direct such as temperature on your homescreen, as well as add additional features such as radar, hourly forecast, current conditions, and camera.
Unlike WeatherBug Direct it will be a full application on your BlackBerry device
and will not point to the WeatherBug WAP site for additional information.
It will be a free application.
The release should happen sometime later today or tomorrow."
The application provides:
- Current conditions
- 7 day Forecast
- Interactive radar and temperature maps
- Weather Alerts
- Live cameras
- Multiple saved locations
Please let me know what you think of the application as well as any problems
that you have.
We will be making further updates through the next couple of weeks based on
feedback from users.
Thanks,
Eddie
What does the GPS do? Auto update the temperature for the area you're in?
That's my guess. After the download, I went to the download folder, clicked on the icon, and it loaded very nicely with just a few question. Then imoved to icon to my home page.
You know, I have to say; you gotta give it to weatherbug for steppin' up to the plate so quickly. I have always loved there app and thiversion is no different
I'm not getting the temp on my home screen, but I haven't played with it much. I wanted to throw this out to you guys as soon as I found that it loaded okay,
That same person emailed me today. My bug report was in regards to the app on the 8330, so didn't understand why he sent that to me about the Storm. I asked him if it's only for the Storm or if it was BlackBerries in general, but updated for the Storm - no response.
