Screenlock is a good free app also. It isn't flashy, but it gets the job done. unlike free stormslider this one comes up auto on calls and you can get it off with one click of back button if you need to use screen during call

welcome to the storm family
Hmmm, intriguing! I'm not exactly sure what you mean but I'm guessing I'm a dope regarding the use of the pointer. So I'll play with that a little more and see if I just didn't 'get' how the pointer works. Sometimes we have those duh moments.
Fast forward to 5 minutes later with the light bulb that just went off in my head!!!
Ok, so I was just trying out the brower again to see if I could figure out what you meant by 'on the side'. Wow - that's pretty damn cool! Like I said, I couldn't see it before b/c it was under my fat finger. It didn't make any sense to have it set up that way. Thanks much for the smack on the head!
I'll see if this helps with the browsing and selection now.
You guys are awesome!
Jay
I have never used the pointer before.
what do you mean the storm can't "tell you if you have email, text, missed calls, etc. without the aid of a 3rd party plug in that, often times crashes the phone." That is 100% not true. The storm does that just fine on it's own.
Yup it is. Sorry for the confusion - I was referring to my previous WinMo phone. It has one little icon next to the EVDO that looks like an envelope and all it tells you is that there is something, somewhere that you missed. It doesn't tell you how many missed calls, how many voicemails, how many texts, etc. Really sad for a phone based OS - Microsoft really dropped the ball on that one (in addition to other items).
So to clarify . . . BB Storm - has it! WinMo - doesn't (at least not up to v6.1). I had to run a memory hog of a today plug-in just to get these messages on my WinMo phone. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get all of these messages on the Storm now that I have the notifications ;)
Set up my email and I can't believe how easy it was! Up and running in minutes!!
