Remember, it is an official... so get rid of that pesky vendor file.

It seems to be installing just fine here.

Possibly the best install yet. I read the 9550 thread about this build and can't say I am having the same troubles.

My themes installed flawlessly, all my hidden icons were still hidden. All the icons in new special folders were still there. All I had to do was re-register a couple of 3rd party appz.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me the call quality is much better and the 'hang up' key hangs up!!! It doesn't think about it for a couple of minutes or take you to the home screen etc. It just DOES IT!

Flick scrolling seems much smoother as well.

Although early doors yet, I have not found a problem at all.

    Here you go Bruce,

    1. Un-install any older versions of firmware from your PC.
    2. Install the new one on the PC.

You should see it installed in the following path....

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9520AllLang_v5.0.0.713_P4.2.0.323

    3. Go back 2 folders to the 'Research in Motion ' folder.
    4. Go into the 'Apploader' folder
    5. DELETE the file entitled 'vendor.xml'
    6. Click on the file entitled 'loader.exe'

You should now be good to go.

For some strange reason, it changed all my 'all day' events into ones lasting from midnight to midnight! Apart from that no probs. Thanks for the heads up for the new os!

Just installed this now onto my 9520. Installation worked like a charm. All my apps and messages moved over correctly.

So far no issues whatsoever. The phone seems very responsive - just need to leave it a day or two to check out the battery.

I just installed without deleting the vendor.xml file. Seems to work OK but is there any possibly of problems?

No, once it is on the handset you are fine.

I noticed that if the vendor file has been deleted in the past it gets replaced again with another copy that is only 1kb in size and you can get away with not deleting it.

    Code:
     <vendorsrc version="0.0.0.0" />
However some event beyond that (not sure what triggers it) suddenly bulks it back up to about 500kb. That is when you have to definitely delete it.

No, the .1206 is the packaging version. What we are looking for is the apps version. In this case .713.

    Don't worry. Common mistake.
