As you all know, I'm a newb.......when I open the BBDesktop manager, application loader, and browse looking for all files to find the the slacker_mobile.jap file, it says " No additional applications designed for your device were found ". I feel that I am somewhat savvy on a technical level, I guess this contradicts that.

I believe you mean .jad files?? And those are for OTA downloads.

Go to the website you loaded them from on your computer on your phones browser. OTA is over the air.

You can also also store in .jad on your media card, go to your media folder, select "explore" from the BB menu, go to the .jad file and click (select) it.
