My Prediction.......
- Is it? Hmm... interesting. How long does it take to save? Mine would take about 5-7 seconds. When you count it out, that is a while.
You think I should just jl wipe the phone and reload the OS?
I did remove all *.dat files from the mem card.05-25-09 01:43 AMLike 0 - if they get a build, and it passes, they won't NOT pass it to wait for something else. if it passes, they release it. now once they get a build out, they might become more critical of future test builds....
and idk what is in lab/network testing, very few people do. the only thing we have is speculation/discussion of RIM employees who state they know which builds were taken off of the partner site, etc.
IMO .148 will pass. i haven't heard ANY negative feedback about the OS.
there is negative feedback based on 3rd party apps, with memory leaks, QL not working (now resolved with an update) etc...but none of the issues discussed are an actual flaw or bug in the OS.
botched installs and 3rd party apps hijacking your app memory are not bugs, no matter how you position it. sorry.
nice so its still looking good. How is the screen rotation on .14805-25-09 04:07 AMLike 0 - like i said take it or leave it just repeating what the eng. said you dont have to belive it if you dont want to05-25-09 12:43 PMLike 0
- Why would it need to be official to get past your IT? I am on enterprise and have updated to all leaked os's with no IT issues. Plus, they are official for some carriers. How would your IT staff even KNOW that you have a leaked OS?05-25-09 04:45 PMLike 0
- Seriously, anyone who wont upgrade from 75 should have their phone taken from them and replaced with an 8830--no updates ever, just plain old BB---why even go touchscreen if you are not going to utilize it properly?05-25-09 04:48 PMLike 0
- patches152Banned8830 just got an update.
And IT admins can lock out devices with software that they approved.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com05-25-09 05:10 PMLike 0 - It pisses me off when people tell me I have to upgrade or I should have my phone taken away. why does it matter even a little bit to you? I have never complained about my phone on .75. It works well. Maybe I'm just lucky. I stay in the mid-30s with memory, all my apps work fine The only thing that doesn't work up to par is the camera. But that's not why i bought a storm anyway.05-25-09 05:56 PMLike 0
- First of all, I bet that 95% of Storm owners are still on .75. People on these forums believe that everyone reads them, and that all users install leaks and keep up with this stuff. I doubt it.
Second, while I agree that .148 seems pretty quick, and pretty stable, Ill be surprised if it or any other update is released soon, and do not believe any posters that claim to work for Verizon, or have a friend that does.....ect.
My guess is that most Storm users will remain on .75, and are apparently happy with it, and then later this year the new Storm with a brand new OS will be released, and eventually most of us will upgrade phones, and that is how Verizon will handle the OS upgrade issue.05-25-09 06:17 PMLike 0 - Well, as high and mighty as you come off - you have to realize that not EVERY blackberry storm user is signed up on crackberry. I'm pretty sure it's a small, small percentage. Also, many people who have it issued for their jobs arent allowed to upgrade. Good luck taking away millions of phones, hope you have somewhere to store them all.05-25-09 06:36 PMLike 0

.75 is THE approved OS, so running .75 on the Storm is using it properly. Just call Verizon if you dont believe me.05-25-09 06:43 PMLike 0 -
and this is where I stand -- people often rag on me for not installing anything higher then the approved os..
I feel that I want to stay correct in what they want it to be. Am I happy they haven't released a upgraded os no I am not. However I personally feel better in where I stand because I am using the device in the approved fashion. They will never be able to call me a liar if I ever have a problem.05-25-09 08:20 PMLike 0 - patches152Bannedthe only reason to upgrade to a leaked OS is this:
because you want to.
you will make your own decisions, and everyone else will make theirs, and we all have to live with that. if someone asks why you did something, kindly educate, and use logical reasons, the end result you were expecting, and if you reached said result. comments like the ones made by jason are pointless and worthless. it is combative, and non-productive.05-25-09 08:59 PMLike 0 -
Now, imagine if you will that patches152, the very knowledgable guy that he is, wants to gain access to sensitive data. He just has to install an app like that in a beta OS and upload it to rapidshare, then post a link. Most of us will download and install the OS, never realizing that he gets a copy of every email that is saved on the phone, and can listen in at random. He just has to sift through the data to find what he wants. Now, I suspect it would a bad thing if this happened to a government phone, which is one of the main reasons many IT departments have ways to keep you from modifying the OS on the device. There's also the threat that they might fire you if you're caught doing it around their security.
I don't claim to have much programming expertise, but I suspect it wouldn't be difficult at all to program an app that would run silently in the background and do all of these things and more. It could likely even be programmed to remain dormant until it saw certain keywords in an email. Its alot like a java trojan horse.05-25-09 10:40 PMLike 0 - patches152Banned
i have heard ZERO bugs aside from what civic listed, but idk if they will even consider those as far as reasons to fail...people are hurtin' for an OS update, especially BES users (aka cash cows)...so i don't see them failing .148
and they won't fail .148 because they think a later build will do better...they will release what passes when its approved...05-25-09 10:55 PMLike 0 - idk if he said...

its 3 within either 30 or 90 days (i forget which), not a year...
i just have a really hard time taking this post serious with all the typos and lack of punctuation. not stating that what you're discussing is or isn't true, but at least type it out, and run it through MS word for a quick grammar and spelling check at least. your credibility will sky rocket with that small attention to deatil, trust me.05-26-09 01:02 AMLike 0 - patches152Banned
stop what you're doing right now, cancel the .141 DL and get .148 instead!05-26-09 01:06 AMLike 0 -
...all blasphemy's aside, where can I obtain this?
.141 was the most recent, or I should say, highest interval on the leaked OS page.05-26-09 01:22 AMLike 0 - 1.21 Gigawatts of Electricity?! Great Scotts! Marty, I'm sure that in 1985 plutonium is available in every corner drugstore, but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by.
