    Hi all,
I have a BlackBerry Storm 9530 and am not sure if my phone is running on the 3G network. On my home screen all I see listed all the time is 1XEV connection and then what looks like Cross hairs with 3 lines showing. How do I know if my phone is working in 3G or not? Should it be saying 3G instead of the 1XEV or am I over looking something?

Thanks in advance for your help.

OP, do you not have 5.0 OS running on your S1? Most builds of 5.0 display 3G vs. 1XEV...among many other improvements. Just go to Options, Advanced Options, then Wireless Update.

.328 still says 1XEV, not 3G. Yet another reason for me to find .419 and install it...

.419 doesn't use the 3G indicator either. None of the carrier released OS's do. However, .419 is a far better OS than .328 so it may be worth it anyway.

As for getting a 3G INDICATOR, there is a patch that you can download to your phone that will take care of that. I believe it works on any OS, but I know for sure it works with .419. Do a search for 3G patch and you should find itm. If not, I will look tonight to see if I still have it saved on my computer. You have to use BBSAK or such to load it right to your phone.

I tried the patch in my Telus Stom, and most of the various OS updates and hybrids too and still can't get the 3G icon. Apparently it is an issue with Telus. It dosn't matter though, it is only a stupid icon anyway
