My awesome battery life
- Hey guys...I keep reading threads about battery life sucking and I just wanted to throw a post up with info on my phone. Initially after installing every OS, my battery life has been HORRIBLE. I'm talking in the neighborhood of discharging 10%-15% an hour. Since I've installed .141, I've been playing around with the settings of some of my apps, as well as the devices. I'm happy to say, under light to medium use, I'm now only discharging 1%-2% an hour. I don't know if it is actually because of all the tweaking or just good luck, but I don't have good luck, so I have to guess it's because of the tweaks. Below are all my installed apps and some of my settings I thought were key to achieving this great of battery life.
Hopefully this will help some of you out...

Weather Bug

I think this is the key to bad battery life. First, make sure you give this a location. I don't use My Location. Every time you restart your phone for, I think you have to go into the app and update the weather. I *think* if you don't it will just drain the battery. I keep this app on my home screen (Glass theme shows 6 icons on the home screen) and I noticed that when I restart, WB doesn't automatically update. I am willing to bet that this drains the battery, like when it's looking for a location.

05-05-09 05:34 PMLike 0 - i have a quick question, sorry im kind of new to all of this but if you do not have internet bought out on your BB but have wifi, will your wireless provider (mine is Tmobile) charge you for downloading apps05-08-09 09:48 PMLike 0

I would assume they wouldn't even know about it because it's being downloaded through whatever ISP your WiFi is connected through.05-08-09 09:51 PMLike 0 -

Actually, calls murder my battery life. I have not looked at the stated anount of talk time but there is no way I get more than 2 hours talk time from a full charge. I was on a conference call for 1 hour and 10 minutes using bluetooth and my battery drained at least 75%.05-11-09 01:00 PMLike 0 - Actually, calls murder my battery life. - I have 21 apps and memory is pretty stable. No isue of battery drain when using the phone. Bluetooth does eat up my battery, I use Motorola S9-HD headset when i'm at the gym and when I am done, so is my battery. I do notice that some days are different then others, one day battery does great and others it seem to go quickly. Not much difference in the use not sure why that is. Today it's been off the charger since 7:00am and it's now 12:20pm, still have 4 bars. I have made phone calls, webb, media player (movies and music) weather bug and Hockey news. I guess I dont know sure what I did but mine seems to do pretty good...05-13-09 11:23 AMLike 0
