Hey guys...I keep reading threads about battery life sucking and I just wanted to throw a post up with info on my phone. Initially after installing every OS, my battery life has been HORRIBLE. I'm talking in the neighborhood of discharging 10%-15% an hour. Since I've installed .141, I've been playing around with the settings of some of my apps, as well as the devices. I'm happy to say, under light to medium use, I'm now only discharging 1%-2% an hour. I don't know if it is actually because of all the tweaking or just good luck, but I don't have good luck, so I have to guess it's because of the tweaks. Below are all my installed apps and some of my settings I thought were key to achieving this great of battery life.

Hopefully this will help some of you out...

I think this is the key to bad battery life. First, make sure you give this a location. I don't use My Location. Every time you restart your phone for, I think you have to go into the app and update the weather. I *think* if you don't it will just drain the battery. I keep this app on my home screen (Glass theme shows 6 icons on the home screen) and I noticed that when I restart, WB doesn't automatically update. I am willing to bet that this drains the battery, like when it's looking for a location.

    Locate on startup - Yes
    Update interval - 1 Hour

    GPS Settings
    --------------

    -Device GPS
    -Location On
    -Enabled

    Mobile Network Settings
    --------------
    -On
    -Automatic
    -1XEV

    Screen/Keyboard Settings
    --------------
    Backlight Brightness - 50
    Backlight Timeout - 10 sec
    Automatic Dim Backlight - On
    LED Coverage Indicator - Off

    PatternLock
    --------------
    [Autolock]
    Startup - Yes
Afterbacklight turns off - After 1 Min
    [Backlight]
    Timoutwhen locked - 5 Sec
    Timout when unlocked 45 Sec
Immediately turn off when lock enables - Yes

Like I said, hopefully this helps some of you. If I missed some settings that you might have a question about, let me know.

I have 19MBs of app memory available. What's the point of having it if you don't use it? My phone runs smooth as I can hope for.

Not really sure how this fits in with the topic, but...

I would assume they wouldn't even know about it because it's being downloaded through whatever ISP your WiFi is connected through.

You forget this is still a PHONE, with functions like PHONE, and text messaging, and believe it or not- it has web browsing capabilities too. Apps aren't the only things usable on this phone.

Actually, calls murder my battery life. I have not looked at the stated anount of talk time but there is no way I get more than 2 hours talk time from a full charge. I was on a conference call for 1 hour and 10 minutes using bluetooth and my battery drained at least 75%.

I don't use Bluetooth, of course that's going to drain your battery.

I have 21 apps and memory is pretty stable. No isue of battery drain when using the phone. Bluetooth does eat up my battery, I use Motorola S9-HD headset when i'm at the gym and when I am done, so is my battery. I do notice that some days are different then others, one day battery does great and others it seem to go quickly. Not much difference in the use not sure why that is. Today it's been off the charger since 7:00am and it's now 12:20pm, still have 4 bars. I have made phone calls, webb, media player (movies and music) weather bug and Hockey news. I guess I dont know sure what I did but mine seems to do pretty good...

Why would I need to read other posts about battery life when I have personal experience on my own phone. I don't really care what others experience since I don't know the multitude of factors that influence their phone's battery life.
