I've found a few applications from various websites that say they will work on the Storm but when I try to load them through the BB Desktop Manager I get a message that says" No additional applications designed for your device were found " Is there something that I need to do to get these to work?

Try and get the OTA download. Much easier. Also, they may not be compatiable with the Storm yet.

I get the same message when I try to reload my 3rd party apps.

Certain apps are not available OTA and must be downloaded through the BB Manager. They do say they are compatible with the Storm.
