I've already converted 4 DVDs and uploaded to mine. However, the 4:3 screen size makes for suckyness when loading a WS DVD.
Actually this is no worse than the Iphone because the horizontal resolution on both is 480, the storm has more vertical resolution which just shows up as letterboxes on a 16:9 movie.
As an aside, is it possible to watch movies in portrait mode (not sure why I'd want to but just asking).
No as soon as the movie lauches it flips to landscape and disables the accelerometer, this is actually how I cheat, when the flip gets buggy...
I bring up the phone...same idea but, it's easier to do...just hit the green key and it forces it into portrait.
As for the OP's question...there's a great thread on how to convert movies...with a link to the software. This works great...I used it to convert several music videos for use on the Storm.
As for DVD's, I've got a DVD ripping program (can't remember the name; it's on the computer at home and I'm at work right now). It's got a setting in the "Rip to <format>" section for "IPod". Works great...one step. Rips right from the disk to an mp4.
I've got "Cars" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" on the Storm right now. "Cars" looks incredible! That's my demo video when peope want to see the phone!

Reason: Added link to "great thread"
If you turn on mass storage mode and drag a video right to your blackberry, does the video work for you? I have tried that multiple times and it never seems to work.
For some reason, I am only able to get the video to work if I use the Roxio media manager...Any tips?
I actually did just drag a video, in mass storage mode, onto my device memory and it worked great. I am going to now drag it onto my media card and see if it works just as well.
Dilemma...When I place the video on the device memory, I can watch the video. When I place the video on the memory card, it will not play - any suggestions?
