Hey Guys Am Running On Os 4.5.0.77 And The Guys At Bestbuy Told Me That The 16gb Would Not Work On My Bb Curve 8330 Only The 8gb And So Far So Good Even After Looking Up The Info, So Far I Can Put Like 3-4 Movies, Lots Of Pics And Music And Still Have Like Almost 4gb Left On It. And When I First Put My 8gb Card In My Bb And After I Formated It It Read Like 7.3gb I Think They Take A Little Space After U Format It But It Works Great. Thanks For The Info Guys.

I would update your OS to 4.5.0.138 then you can use the 16 GB card in your curve.

I've found the thread that shows O/S versions vs. Microsd capacity limits but I want to confirm this is the only limit. I distinctly recall being told when I bought my Storm that it had a given limit (8gb as I recall) and other Blackberrys had smaller or larger limits. So.. am I to understand the size is ONLY limited by the O/S version the phone has onboard? I just want to confirm this before I go buy the max limit. I have a Storm and a Tour I'm working with here and want to max out the memory on the Tour.

This is because hardware manufacturers usually calculate storage size units by powers of 10 (decimal), whereas traditional definitions of data storage are based on a binary system.
This is usually why a drive's advertised size is almost always larger than what is actually displayed in the drive properties by the computer, or in this case BB.
Regardless of whether you call it 8GB or 7.3GB, it still ends up being ~68,719,476,736 bits
