you can remove the I.M. messages but not emails. if you go to separate messages for sms/mms it will just be PIN, email and call notifications, and VVM if you have it. go into the respective I.M. apps and change the setting under options>show conversations in message list, change to "no" and you're as set up as it gets. with what you have in mind anyway. btw, if you go into messages>view folders there is a folder for "missed calls" and "phone logs", etc. that is what i use.
