I just stumpled upon the setting options-memory-memory compression.

Does this have any effect on the performance of the OS ?

I have tried to turn it off to give it a try. Since compression requires cpu usage I'm hoping to see at least a small improvement even if I do have to trade in some free mem.

So far it feels like an improvement and actually I have not lost any free mem.....

It could be placebo, but it actually feels a lot snappier. ...

What about loading times from startup? Any different. I have seen this before but I was afraid to press it, ha!

Did'nt try a battery pull yet.. To put it bluntly, I dont care if it does take 10 minutes to boot up the phone, as long as it runs well once it is booted..

And it does.... Its not like im blown away by the speed, but there seems to be less situations where im thinking... errr come on.

And mem is still stable. (the same as it was before)
