I updated my Storm last night to .99 OS and ever since I have been unable to send/receive BBM messages and emails. My service is stuck on 1xev and will not switch to 1XEV.

Anyone have any idea what I can do?

That would be where I would start.

Definitely did several battery pulls and got nothing.

I just did *228 and after a little music got a message saying "Your roaming capabilities have been updated succefully...." Now all I have is "1x". I tried re-registering the phone via Host routing Tables. It says the registration was sent but I never get the confirmation message. I cannot send the Service Books because the phone won't open the "Email Setup" page.

    Any help?

Seems simplistic, but try turning off all connections ("manage connections"). Toggle your network tech (if 1XEV, set to Global, or vice versa). Wait a minute, then restart the network connection.

Was a period a few weeks ago when this happened to me. Three bat pulls did nothing. Tried this and it worked. Might have been a coincidence, but I throw it out there...

If you do a search for this, there's a thread about solving this general issue. It basically involves manually deactivating your phone and then reprogramming it via *228.

Otherwise, when I had a similar problem, a wipe and OS reload solved it.

Thanks for the tips. Stupid Verizon suspended my service because they don't know how to give credits for returned devices and insisted I owed them $213.99 for a phone (which of course I didn't)

Once the children that run that place were able to piece together their series of errors and disconnects they credited me and restored all my services, which solved the problem.

    Appreciate the help though.

You're on EVDO (rev 0 or A) but do not have a successful data connection to RIM's servers.
