I would like to compile a list of JUST the issues between the different Storm Betas. I am working on a way to combine the OS's (a la my Radio Code post) in order to make a better OS. Please list the problems you have in your version of the OS (.90 + please).

Format:
.90 for 9530
random reboots
MP3 player crashed 100% of the time
camera only saved to media card at 1.1x or higher
occassional VSOD
mp3 only crashes if you have non-mp3s (AAC) on memory card
Lag in lock to lock screen / have to tap screen to engage
Media player progress bars stuck at beginning of song or video.
BBM lock up
Multiple random reboots every day. Anywhere from 6-10 each day.
Always got media card inserted and VSoD unless I removed media card before reboot.
Occasionally got media card removed error and VSoD upon reboot.
Attempting call to number in call log screen resulted in contacts being brought up instead.
Word Mole caused freeze up.
Occasional reboots upon phone call completion or receipt of incoming call.
does not ring when connected to PC
DM could not force Mass Storage Mode upon connection

.99 for 9530
memory leak is a bit higher
video playback is a bit choppy
typing lag in general, but Severe lag while typing in browser
numerous users report mp3 player cuts off beginning of songs
Lag in lock to lock screen / have to tap screen to engage
record a video +save= instant reboot
Slower performance than .90.
Reduced color depth
BBM lock up
Unlocking from landscape usually freezes device
Taking phone out of holster usually results in a freeze.
Locking phone with BBM open, and receiving a message sometimes locks phone up.
MMS Issue
Charging Issue
"clock" appears more frequently; slight overall lag compared to .90
lost ability to edit/save folders
have had 4 occasions where the phone rebooted after completion of a phone call.
does not ring when connected to PC
Still get occasional sound notifications in Bedside mode even though they are set to off.
Memory will drop up to 15MB in 30 minutes or less with no use and all apps closed (except the 4 that can't be). Sporadic only.
Don't always get the red asterisk indicating new message even though # notification appears.
color saturation slightly lessened on home screen icons (across the tops). Minor.
occasional screen 'flicker'



.90 for 9500
quite good at the start (very quickly and stable)...then after 4-5 day random reboots (multiple random every day)
MP3 player crashed after 10-20 seconds
camera only saved to media card with FLASH ACTIVATED (impossible to save without flash)
Botton menu frequently open the slide CHANGE APPLICATIONS and not the options of the application we are using
youtube made every time ERROR HTTP 400
Google maps doesn't work or doesn't work good (it depends on....I didn't know)
Occasionally got media card removed error and VSoD upon reboot.

.100 for 9500
video player lose bottoms
typing lag in general
Loops
Very Slower performance than .90.
Battery doesn't charge or no longer endurance (1/2 day)
Charging Issue "clock" appears more frequently
lost ability to edit/save folders


I will keep this post updated so that i can work on a hybrid OS. Thanks

I have a day 1 delivered 9530 made in Canada. I think hardware has something to do with what we are seeing.

That is not true, I (and others too) have only mp3 and it would crash every time. So glad .99 fixed that.

I press the lock either the Icon or the one on top of the device, then to lock I have to tap the screen

How do you mean javascript disabled? I have gone to sites and javascript worked just fine.

I posted this bug report a couple days ago: Browser Bug. Javascript <script> processing is disabled in 0.90 and 0.99. You can prove it for yourself on the test page I posted in the original thread.

If the javascript is in an <a> tag, or a <form> or <button> tag it will work. But 0.90-0.99 will not execute any code inside a <script> tag. This includes inline scripts and external scripts.

I posted this bug report a couple days ago: Browser Bug. Javascript <script> processing is disabled in 0.90 and 0.99. You can prove it for yourself on the test page I posted in the original thread.

If the javascript is in an <a> tag, or a <form> or <button> tag it will work. But 0.90-0.99 will not execute any code inside a <script> tag. This includes inline scripts and external scripts.

Will .100 on the 9530 that page gives "This is line 1" So that should be able to be fixed with the browser files from .100.

I added a couple!

Memory leak, slow typing, and lack of video bluetooth support are my only big gripes so far with .99. Snappier performance and original color depth would be icing on the cake. And a faster browser!

Interested to hear from those that have the 9500. I don't have time until the weekend to sort through all the crapload of posts about .90 and .100 for the 9500. So this project may take until the end of the weekend (or longer if my writeup takes precedence)

Updated. can you provide more details on your performance issues?

Mostly just slower opening and closing applications. I get the little spinning timer icon or the hourglass all the time now where on .90 my apps just popped open and closed instantly. I think it's due to the whole fading transition thing, which I don't like anyway. Hope that clears it up!

Sorry, I can't comment on BBM since I don't use it.
