hey AZY - VHA are supporting .425, it just has some issues. I have the same problem with the app center - a fault ticket was raised pre xmas for it. Some video also plays with sound but no video - so a codec change was made at somepoint that is broken. Vlive now works again - the pages were missing a wml header which was added last week, so the new bberries work on live again
What support are you after? alot of vha staff use v5 storms as day to day handsets.

frankly i dont use the crap Voda live icon wast of time,and also i dont really use the aplication center as vodafone does a crap job with aps for it any way
full stop, so i uninstaled it craps me off !!!!
wish they would get there act togeather on aps as compare it iphone aps there far more ahead than storm or black berrys in a leage of there own.
crackberry is on the job so thats my main sorce but in saying that most off the aps are a wast of time and money anyway so ive given up on them really. ,so the suport from voda for upgrades and aps really does suck,its all abount cash and turn over and no suport for the phone whats so ever, as usual even there firmware upgrade is like miles behind the rest of the world as i can come here or go to black berry and get far better firmware.
but anyway thanks for the reply i think this firm ware rocks apart from what i have mentioned,whitch dont really mater the phone is now awsome for me works like a phone and emails like one,thats all i need

i think u just get the one from A1... and run the .exe file.. it will run through the installation process as usual

Ok I downloaded the files but because there's no .exe file so I don't understand how I can get it onto my bb.
I'm a total noob at this have never changed my os using the computer and I'd just like some basic help on installing.


PS please don't lecture me about not understanding what I'm doing I've backed everything up so its all good eh? :P
Also don't point me to one of th how-to threads, they all seem to hinge on me having the .exe file. Which I don't.

Hi, Bro. u can try install the hybrid 425/436 by lyricidal which support eastasia ontop of the 425, i have tried that on my storm 9500, it able to read chinese. Check it out and gd luck

I've been on unofficial 5.0.0.425 for a week now and like it mostly. I have a small memory leak but it's no big issue.
One thing I miss is not having a Forward SMS or "forward as" option on an "icon" at the bottom of the screen or in the menu under the Menu key. There is a “forward to Messenger” option. So I have to highlight the text and then a "forward as" option appears under the Menu key.
Yet for email "forward as" is there just as it was at 4.7.181.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

i think, its not a problem / bug that to be fixed, its just a new way "how to forward sms" things...

Hi! I am also from SA. I installed .425 but now I upgraded to Aussies official .451 and it works much better. so I suggest you also go for official .451

I tried this, 5.0.0.425 and when my device was booting the first time, it popped up APP ERROR 200 with reset under it. Tried resetting and 3/4ths into the boot it does the error again.. aaaaaaand back to .323 =(

I've never used a beta version (Verizon), just what's been the official version. But I really hate the fact that I can't open links in .328 and am wondering if this is the time to step over the edge and update to .425.

I am running OS 4.7.0.181. i had heard that OS 5 has been officially released for my BB, however my app loader says im running the latest OS. I am new in the IT world of BlackBerry. I have a Storm 9500 originally from Vodafone but unlocked and now on O2. I have the OS 4.7 because O2 doesn't offer a newer one. I've checked with Vodafone but doesn't work on my mobile. It seems that O2 never had the BB Storm! How can I have the last OS for my mobile?!
