- My new Curve 30-day trial ended two days ago. The Verizon store extended to today so I could exchange it for a Storm. I was stoked.
The store had two demos. Both were pretty sluggish. It commonly took a long time to switch from portrait to landscape and back. The guy next to me had the phone lock into camera and couldn't get out. The Verizon guy pulled the battery. It literally took minutes to boot back up. Both demos were running rev .67 OS.
Like others have said, the keyboard will take some time to get used to. I could see learning to get pretty fast on it, but of course, never with the full confidence of the keyboard on the Curve. I was ready to live with that.
As every review has noted, the screen is gorgeous and browsing is great way faster than on the Curve. I couldnt get a complete feel for handling and weight, as the devices were on those tethers that you constantly have to pull against, but it seemed fine. The Word program only lets you view existing docs. You have to purchase the premium version to edit or create docs.
If I had the luxury, I would wait a couple weeks to see if a new OS revision works the sluggishness out. I really wanted the Storm, but since I'm at the end of my 30 days, I decided it was best for me to keep my rock-solid Curve.11-21-08 11:56 AMLike 0
