How do I back up emails, SMS, Picture texts, etc from the old unit and transfer to a replacement unit?

I do not have any additional apps downloaded, but I want all that data onto a new unit!!!

Backup everything using the software that came with your phone, its called desktop manager. Also, desktop manager has a device switch wizard that will walk you through the steps to go fromone BB to another
I've never used the Device Switch Wizard, so I'm uncertain if it copies all SMS and emails (it would make sense it would, but you'd better check to be sure). You might also look into getting the SmartGuard app. I've been using it for quite a while now (the paid version, they have a free version but it does not do the backups). Besides all the other features of tracking/locating/remote wipe/calling, etc., it automatically backs up all emails, contacts, text messages, etc. There might be a free trial of the paid version or, you can get the $4.99/mo. version and do your backups, etc. and then cancel the account, once you've done a restore.
I synch with Outlook, so emails/contacts are easily restored. BBM backs up to my data card, so that leaves the SMS texts, which honestly, I do not care about.
I've used it when switching from my 8130 to my 8330, and will use it this fall when I upgrade to the 9650 (or whatever is available at that time).
It makes the process about as simple and painless as it can be, not by just copying your data (sms and e-mail included), but also trying to copy your compatible applications. You may still need to go to the developer of certain apps to get issued a new key if the old one was based on your PIN
If your not concerned about transferring apps. Then just backup your old phone using Desktop Manager and restore that file to your new phone.
No, use device switch wizard. I've used it to go from S1 to S1 and S1 to S2 to S2 to S2 without any problems at all. After the activation is complete, disconnect and reconnect the phone to the computer and restart DM.
+1 for device switch wizard. it's taken me from 8130 > 8330 > 9530 > 9550 > 9630 without losing anything
I used the Desktop Manager to go from my S1 to my S2. Did the whole thing, DBs and all, only things that didn't transfer were a few programs.
