Just got my 9550 10 minutes ago!
- I've plugged it in to charge. It has 607 installed and was made 3/22/10 so I think I'm good to go on those issues. Can I get a condensed version of the 4 or 5 main issues to set or apps to download? Favorite Tap, Hover, Swipe, etc.
If this question pi--es you off, please just ignore and go read another topic.
Remember, I have 607. I would really appreciate your help.04-14-10 05:10 PMLike 0 - All the issues as far as hardware should be fixed with your S2 build date, should notice a more responsive screen which is a big difference that I could tell...1st app to purchase is Quicklaunch...I'm sure others will agree, alot of users also purchase Meterberry to monitor their device throughout the day and so forth....as far as tap-100, hover-100, and swipe-6(some set theirs to 1 to reduce typing errors).....backlight brightness set it to 10 and backlight timeout to 10 secs.....under mobile network make sure network technology is set to "1xev'.....thats just a few to get you started, these forums are very friendly and can send you in the right direction by using the "search" button and if nothing else asking in a friendly manner(trust me)....

04-14-10 05:28 PMLike 0 - the quickpull app was a popular one with S1 owners and myself when needing to reebot without pulling the battery. The S2 manages memory a million times better, but it is a nice app to have in those "just in case" scenerios.
Score mobile is awesome, gives you tons of scores and stats from various leagues if you're into sports
Pandora is always great for music as is Slacker radio.....can't go wrong with either one
Yelp is great
Poynt or Where are very informative and both give you tons of useful information such as the nearest and cheapest gas station, business around the are or locations, food, etc......
That should hold you up for a bit04-14-10 05:44 PMLike 0 - I've plugged it in to charge. It has 607 installed and was made 3/22/10 so I think I'm good to go on those issues. Can I get a condensed version of the 4 or 5 main issues to set or apps to download? Favorite Tap, Hover, Swipe, etc.

Pandora, if you love music. slacker as a second choice.
right now, iheartradio is having issues with 607.
I'm convinced I don't have much trouble with my S2 because I don't run any resident utilities whatsoever. battery life is great and I have less issues than those here who have their phones loaded to the "gills".04-14-10 07:19 PMLike 0 - 04-14-10 07:21 PMLike 0

- Wow! It's interesting many of you choose the same apps. I can't believe how much better the screen is versus my S1. You wouldn't think they are related. I'm thinking of the Incipio Silicrylic and the Steinheil Protection Film. Any other tweaks? Thanks for being kind to an "old" man!04-14-10 08:16 PMLike 0
- I have 15 full length movies in AVI format. Use Extra DVD Ripper Free to rip from disc. Work great.
Definitely get Google Maps 4, Poynt (preferred over WHERE), and if you're a golfer the best paid app I have is nRange. I know the distance to the green within a foot, not that it helps a hacker like me but... LOL
I have a total of 61 apps (core, add on, third party) and themes, 89MB app memory free.
As a test I opened 20 apps at the same time (2 using GPS) and had no slowdown or problems. I'm running the 517 Saskatel OS with the 604 Hybrid. 607 was junk and gave me nothing but problems. If I were you, I'd downgrade. Although many people have had no problems, there are many more that have.04-14-10 08:40 PMLike 0 - I have found that using a BracketTron vent mount for the Car really helps when using your S2 as your in-car GPS with Google Maps.
Also, another kinda fun GPS app is Trapster - helps you find the Fuzz before they find you.
I like Bolt for web browsing and Pandora for Streaming Radio.
