I used JL Commander to Wipe my phone. the Load Software screen came up on berry. I then loaded up 103. After this to my surprise my settings were back without a restore. Shouldnt the wipe have took my phone number and all off???

No, the wipe wouldn't remove your phone number. The wipe doesn't touch that part of the ROM. If this was the case, you would have to reactive your BB every time you did an update since the update process does a wipe before installing the new OS.
