I was having the same problems. I did battery pulls all the time and that fixed it temporarily. After going through this for a couple weeks I ended up with no sounds working at all.. I called Verizon and they had me wipe my device. It worked, and I haven't had any problems since.

Pull the battery. That worked for me. What a pain in the *** for such an expensive piece of equipment.
