I jus installed a new OS on my BB Storm 9530 and when it finished installing it had a message that said 'not all apps could be installed' or something along those lines. Well i look and my apps are there but my contact book, mms, sms, bb messenger contacts, ALL gone. I've only recently had it and haven't done a backup yet. My question is, are my contacts able to be retrieved in another way by SIM or whatever else there is? Or am i just SOL? thanks.
DM should have automatically backed up the device prior to doing the install... You should be able to revert back to that point, then do a backup, then go through the motions again. Unless of course you wiped your device prior to doing the update. Then you might just be SOL.
Click restore from Desktop Manager then it will take you to where the backup files are saved. Pick the one dated today or whenever you installed the OS.
