IMO The Difference Between IPhone and Storm Before You Buy Either..
- After owning both versions of IPhone and recently a BB Bold and now a Storm here are my opinions. Lets look at the two phones. IPhone I look at like a nice high end digital point and shoot camera Its VERY easy to operate and takes great pictures. The Storm on the other hand is like a high end digital SLR camera It takes great pictures too, but needs more adjusting and focusing to get that same great result of the point and shoot model but also can be customized to individual tastes. The point and shoot is goof proof, the SLR is not. Both phones are great but you have to know what you are doing with the Storm to get the most out of it. The IPhone like a point and shoot camera really needs no instructions on how to use it just watch an Apple TV ad thats all you'll need. The Storm is a different story for the new BB user but if BB is what you have been using in the past well then you will be very familiar with the focus settings and aperture settings and it wont be much of a problem for you at all. Using any BB for the first time is a hassle because they are just by design a type of phone that requires adjustments and some skill to use. Once you are used to it its like riding a bike and becomes second nature.
I had the Bold for a few weeks before I switched to the Storm, by far I like the Storm better. I did not like the track ball. The touch screen of the Storm is much faster to navigate through the icons than that fiddley little ball. Both phones work well IMO but the Storm is easier to use and maybe its just because im so used to using touch screen phones coming from 2 years of IPhone use. So there you have it, Two great phones for two totally different types of users.
As a side note I notice no real difference in service between AT&T and Verizon. The signal strength and service level seem to be equal in my area.Last edited by Bettermost; 03-11-09 at 01:23 PM.
