    Man that must have hurt. I use a credit card edge or tiny screwdriver. I've actually only had to take the battery cover off for real once. The rest of the times is to remove the media card.

    Do not use metal screw drivers... You will wind up scratching up your phone or battery lid. In the beginning it is tight and difficult to open. But after a while, it will start to give better. Its about how you apply the pressure. It needs to be pressured completely downward before you pry it. As I said, it will be tight in the beginning, but it will loosen over time.

    I use alt+right shift+del.
    That's perfectly fine if you have a physical keyboad...this isn't an option for Storm owners, however.

    Used alt + right shift + del on my 8330 but my 9550 has never froze up so I haven't had the need. I use quick pull, quick launch, meter berry or control bbanel when resetting my fone for other reasons though.
