I am not sure what you mean, but all passwords should switch to multitap. I have noticed on some browsers it switches to multitap to - until I scroll to insert symbol. Yes this is on BB other than storm, but I would think it would be the same for you.

Go to options > screen/keyboard.....and make sure that your Portrait View Keyboard is set to Suretype

I was just getting ready to ask the same question.

My problem with this first developed when I went to .90 and now on .99 I still get it.

Every time I open BBM or use Opera Mini and occasionally with media player I have to readjust to suretype.

I was hoping someone else had the answer.

The frustrating thing is that it's set for suretype in portrait mode but it still switches to multi tap.

you people that are having trouble with it switching back to multitap on its own running .90? cause i had the same exact problems while i was on .90

I had it on .90 and now on .99

sometimes when in media player it won't go to suretype at all. So far this is my only complaint of .99.

Imho I believe its due to the fact that you are running a third party app like opera that is not specifically made for the storm. I know that when I didn't have opera installed running .90 I had no problem with the sure type changing. As soon as I use opera the switch happens. Try not using opera for a few days and you won't have to change. Also if you choose the full qwerty keyboard in portrait mode the switch won't happen either.
