Because of its OS files Hopefully we will be able to integrate it into our Storms.

    Any opinion?

    I'm not sure I follow?
Isn't the Odin the Storm2 and isn't Rim releasing the 5.0 OS soon?
So the OS will be able to integrate with the current Storm I would think.
    Did I misunderstand you?
It's also really easy to upgrade the OS. If you need help, let me know.
I am about to do it for a gentleman I just met and I just yesterday, told a woman I know I'll help her to get a Storm for herself and upgrade the OS on it for her if she likes.
    So, no problem helping you.

I think the OP plans on modding the Odin 5.0. OS for the Storm.

Now we are on the same page This is what we are hoping for - That the Odin's OS will work on the Storm. Since there are minor hardware differences, we are unsure about how much of the Odin's OS can be integrated into the Storm's OS.

I think the OP plans on modding the Odin 5.0. OS for the Storm.

Hopefully we will be getting a Official 5.0 for the original storm before the "storm 2" is even released.

Doubt it as well , odds are we will see 148 go offical in the next few weeks or so then not see an offical 5.0 build for 6-8 months

That is if it releases with 5. The one in the video was running 4.7.

If the Storm is to succeed, shouldn't it have its own brand new OS/UI that can hold its own against the IPhones and Palm Pre's of the world? If its just a touch screen Blackberry with some slightly upgraded specs with the same old slightly upgraded OS on it then what will make the phone stand out?

    The answer is nothing.

Since the phone is close to production I'm guessing the Storm 2 is exactly that, a more solidly built, slightly different Storm 1 that has a smooth OS without the click screen. It won't have true multi-touch and the OS will look like the latest ones. It won't be innovative in any way which will suck in the long run.

I'll definitely be passing on this phone if its how I described.
