    I know I'm going to get slammed, but I looked through 8 pages of posts and searched for the answer already. There have been so many posts in the forum in the last few days I can't wade through it all, so here is my question.
    I allowed desktop manager to "downgrade" me to platform 4.7.0.76 and my phone runs like poo. How do I get it back to 4.7.0.82 ?

    There is no 4.7.0.82.

    i think he is talking about platform version 7.0.0.82, go download the software from verizon's website.

    The official code shipping with the BlackBerry Storm from Verizon Wireless is "v4.7.0.65 (Platform 4.0.0.82)." This information appears in the Options / About section on the handset. The first number (v4.7.0.65) is the software version that appears on the bar code sticker applied to the outside of the BlackBerry/Verizon Wireless box.

    Verizon or BlackBerry Both are the same. The Verizon one is the Desktop Manager and the BB one is online.

    No problem. The first day I got mine I accidentally downgraded mine buy installing the software on the CD. Luckily I was able to find these quickly and fix it.

    Does this happen automatically when you first connect the phone to the computer? Anyway to stop it from happening?

    I currently have 4.7.0.65 on my Storm. So I can upgrade to 7.0.0.82 by going to the Verizon site? Is it worth it? What do you all suggest? Thanks guys

    No. you need to read the entire post above. There is a difference between the platform number and the software number. look up.
