I downloaded the FOX News Alert application, but it sucked.

Now, I can't seem to stop the text messages coming in from FOX News.

How do I stop these messages from coming in?

The sender's e-mail address is a long serial number which looks like it was randomly generated.

    Please help me...

Have you checked their website to see if you can opt out. Also have you checked to see if you can unsubscribe in the text message itself?

Had the same mess happen to me and I contacted support at the bottom of the BB App World page where I downloaded it from. Someone replied that same day and gave me the instructions on how to stop it from being pushed to my phone.

    Replying STOP didn't work.

I'm gonna try to send that e-mail at the bottom of the BB Apps page. Thanks.

This will do it - replying STOP or anything of that nature won't work. Use the above link.

I tried the link above and it is not an available link.
Do I need to hit it from my BB?
I am concerned about sending an email through the App area, as I am using the leaked OS5 v .230.
Any other ideas how to get this off my phone??
    Thanks in advance.

That link isn't working, anymore, from my phone.

How can I stop these alerts?

I'd like FOX News Alerts to come in, via e-mails, but they come in as text messages, for some reason. Why is that?

    FOXNews.com - Breaking News Unsubscription - FOXNews.com

Unsubscribe there via your email address first. This will take you completely off their alert system. Wait until it stops. Then go to the subscribe link at the bottom of that page and put in your email info to receive it via that, BUT DON'T PUT IN A MOBILE PHONE NUMBER! <- very important part.

I've tried this - it won't work. This was different from my other thread.

I need to know why E-Mails are getting delivered to my SMS Text Messages...?

I would assume that they've somehow got your number. You're sure you didn't sign up with it even along with an email or anything? That's the only reason I can think of why they would send you a text rather than email.

If I signed-up for the FNAs, it was with my e-mail address, but the alerts deliver as SMS Text messages.

And that's my point, you apparently gave them your mobile number to send them to. Have you actually unsubscribed in the link I gave you? If you pay close attention to the wording on the "Subscribe Link" page at the bottom of that link, you'll see that that form indicates that the email address you provide is used "to manage" your subscriptions. That means that even though you're unsubscribing via email address, if the address you provide is the SAME as the one you provided at the same time you provided the number, it'll unsubscribe BOTH. Once that's done and the messages stop, you can go back and subscribe again, but this time DON'T PUT YOUR MOBILE NUMBER IN THE FILEDS FOR MOBILE NUMBER.
